The Plan

The plan was to quit this morning. Not even go in if my paycheck was received by way of direct deposit.

My paycheck was in fact received. So why am I up at 3:30 a.m. worrying about this and trying to figure out what to do?

Yesterday I had a lot of confidence as far as quickly finding a job goes. Now I'm starting to worry again.

My mom brought this on. Stupid me, I told her the plan. She's seemingly supportive one minute, when she doesn't think I'll act on something. And when she sees that I'm being serious, she freaks out, which freaks me out.

I have an interview at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at a great firm (which I'm actually not too thrilled about, because it's a LONG drive from home). I told my grandfather I'd take him to the liver specialist tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. and to Laughlin next week since I'll be jobless and won't have any commitments during the day (aside from job hunting). So really, is there any turning back? There doesn't appear to be.

ACK. I'm so scared.

ING Direct

Want $25 for free?

Okay, I usually don't do these things, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to post about this on here.

I have an Orange Savings Account through ING Direct. It's an online bank, and you make your deposits by either sending them a check (payable to yourself with your account number on the memo line) or by making a transfer from your primary checking account online.

What's great about ING Direct is the interest rate. The current interest rate is 3.0%, which is way higher than any other bank I know of. (I don't think my interest rate on my Washington Mutual savings account, which I don't use, is even 0.5%!)

I signed up with ING Direct in 2002, and I have never had any problems with them. There is no minimum balance, there are no fees at all for having the savings account. It's absolutely free.

Their current promotion allows you to receive $25 just for signing up. When I signed up in 2002, I believe I got $50 free.

Of course, if you sign up using a referral link I send you, I get rewards myself ($10 per referral) :D So, it can work for both of us, hahaha.

If you're interested in signing up, just comment below with your e-mail address, or e-mail me, and I will send you the referral link. You're not obligated to sign up if I send you the link -- You can just read more about it if you want.

Of course, this is a normal bank account, so you do have to provide identifying information to them, just like you would with any other bank.
